Whatever “school” of Astrology one may follow – the “sign division” is a system used for quite a while and I think it’s there for a reason, the exact “why and what” is somehow lost….
But for this post, it shall not matter as you will see further down….
Yes, Neptune has entered the constellation of Pisces a while ago and on 17th/18th of April 2023 (depending the time zone), he’ll reach the heliocentric 0° sidereal Pisces – geocentric it happened ca. 12 hours after the March Equinox….
It also means, that Neptune is slowly coming into orb of longitude with the Vernal Point and the Galactic South Pole (in 2025 - so we have some time to "prepare" for that alignment)...
As we’re dealing with Neptune, a planet with an orbit usually people can’t follow up within a life time, I wondered, when it had happened last, him to be at this exact point and what the historical data collection of Wikipedia has to say about that time… it was on 30th of June 1858 and a very interesting chart, in which Neptune did hold many “strings” (aspects), which isn’t the case this time – he’s opposed by Mercury just under the Lion’s tail… but maybe that’s the main focus right now for us - “clear / clair” about – the communicative powers of the mind….
But before we dive into those details, let us have a look at what Neptune represents:
He’s about transcendence, clarity, dreams, illusions and disillusions but also escapism. He’s about connection and communication between realms – the physical and the nonphysical, light and dark etc. Furthermore, I think he got a lot to do with memory and what role emotions play within those and/or to see “through” these emotions - gaining clarity about the own emotions or to use another word "awareness"… I usually call this the “inner cell phone”…. The same “principle” we can apply to dreams in their various forms/realms/states….
As Neptune was discovered in 1846, there have been only 12 years of conscious living with Neptune until he was at the same place of the zodiac as now. That also means, that we’re now in the second orbit of consciously knowing about him (first "return" of Neptune at his discovery position was in July 2011) and same time we’re discovering loads and loads of history and their apparent or veiled meanings.
In history, those times were very interesting, especially when we also take into count, that Saturn (structures, authority, maturity, commitments etc.) had shifted his nodal axis from sidereal Capricorn / Cancer into Sagittarius / Gemini and was also involved directly in the discovery charts of Neptune…. Eris was involved in the discovery chart of Neptune as well, yet, she was just discovered in 2005 but nevertheless a force at work (just not as conscious), with all the revelations and wars that were going on in the time to make space for changes to happen…
The first industrial revolution “ended” around 1840 and the second industrial or technological revolution “started” around 1870 and therefore our “time frame” of Neptune right in between…
When we look at the 1850’s and 1860’s we see a lot of wars, inventions and discoveries that ended in new “alliances”, and advancements in many fields of life like medicine, evolutionary themes, genetics (pre-discoveries), technology etc., there were shifts in literature, fashion and even new churches have developed….
In the end of the 19th century the last conjunction between Neptune and Pluto took place (the current cycle) – again and of course “transforming” and yes, things did happen in the last 100 years in a speed that’s very rapid compared to what was in many millennia… well, at least on the physical plane…
Yet, with the Neptune and Pluto conjunction also the “metaphysical” and “nonphysical” realms started to be discussed in very different ways and ancient wisdom to be re-discovered and put into new structures or forms of understanding / interpretation… and that’s a process many of us see “explosively” increase in the last few decades….
The "0-point Pisces":
As you can see along the "grayish" line - there's not much on this O-point, except the middle of the "fish head", called the "circlet"...
North of it, Markab and Scheat both of Pegasus.
South, the "tail" of the Phoenix and Sculptor, where there's also the South Galactic Pole...
Markab also talks about the "Merkabah" - a geometry, that includes geometry (like the cycles within cycles), lol...
The activation of many parts of the bodies can be achieved by using this "technology".
The whole cusp area is about bringing the physical and non-physical into a harmony, a collaboration... a technology that can be used for "fulfillment"....
The SGP in Sculptor and above the Phoenix, does indicate very fundamental energy - intention...
Neptune brings the clarity of intention, the awareness of intention and the ability to communicate it within the system - cell phone, therefore a "two way street"....
The awareness of the powers of emotion as a tool instead of something we're kind of "entrapped" in and brings us to reactions we may feel sorry, guilt or ashamed of after....
Neptune in 1858 was opposed by Venus in sidereal Virgo near the star Zavijava of Virgo. Vesta in early sid. Scorpio constellation Libra, opposed by Mercury on the Aries-Taurus cusp are also in aspects with Neptune and Venus, forming a so called "envelope" or mystical rectangle...
Neptune and Venus are also T-squared by Ceres and Varuna near the Galactic Center and Mars nearby in Ophiuchus.
Eris was conjoined by Makemake (a dwarf planet) in sidereal Aquarius (both not discovered yet at that time) and Saturn stood in sidereal Cancer just passed its star Tegmen. .... Uranus was conjoined by Jupiter in sidereal Taurus and the Earth/ Moon system stood in middle of Sagittarius (if viewed from Earth Sun in sid. Gemini), which is also the axis of Jupiter's nodes...
A mystic rectangle/envelope speaks of "initiation" and squares about challenges, action, decisions, change etc. - oppositions mark awareness and integration... many of the "outlining" aspects are of the "descending nature" - especially the trines - therefore it's about "birthing", the squares also of "descending nature" and therefore of discernment and change....
In the last decades we have seen the increasing efforts of “women’s rights” – commonly we have accepted that but not so much yet within the self – the fact that we all, never mind the body, do contain feminine and masculine powers (energy). Everything does – it’s duality without which nothing exists in this universe… even light are tiny little particles and as that under the same "laws".
Quantum physics (together with other sciences) has made discoveries that “prove” ancient wisdom – now we have wisdom and knowledge combined and can finally “birth the child” accordingly… 😉
Did you know that Max Planck (the "founder" of quantum physics) was born in 1858!!??
Birthing a new "mind set" from the realms of Neptune isn't an easy thing - I mean, we may have visions, "clairvoyant" perceptions, dreams etc. but how to explain something no words exist yet?? It needs a lot of perseverance, stamina and willpower to follow it through, especially when it goes against the current paradigm...
Wikipedia: Planck experienced the truth of his own earlier observation from his struggle with the older views during his younger years: "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it."
Max Planck though, not as many before him, was recognized for his work during his lifetime - nevertheless, he did put foundations as many people did in those times and we do now too.... yet, in another way again....
So, we have to let go of the “previous mind set”, belief of possibility etc. in order to start "planning and practicing“ something new...
"Letting go" though, can come in 2 types though - destructive or evolutionary - a choice.
When we look at the chart now and the times we’re in, I would say some “changes” are happening as well – as by now Eris and many more are in our consciousness and thanks to advances in technology, we’re able to discover things on an almost daily basis… yet, as wonderous they may seem, ancient wisdom does talk about them for a long time… that fact itself needs conscious integration with all its consequences and possibilities this may hold…
Talking of possibilities - it's a word I do also associate with Neptune (not alone though) as in dreams, everything and anything is possible...
In this chart we see Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter, Eris and Sedna all at or near cusps… - that’s for a while already and for Pluto, Neptune and Eris this will last for some time longer….
Interestingly Saturn actually stands at Neptune's "discovery place" ;-)
Since Neptune was discovered in conjunction with Saturn and Eris, these cycles are very important – the next Saturn and Neptune conjunction will be on 12th of December 2025 and the next Neptune and Eris conjunction on 7th of December 2037… therefore we’re with both cycles now in the “ending phase” – conclusions, discernments and “visions”, seedings for the future…
Once Neptune will pass over the constellation Cetus through Pisces, we’ll even more extensively work with memory on an individual and collective level (I think Cetus may not only talk about human collectives, if one “believes” in such possibilities)… don’t forget – Neptune's nodal axis (path of action) lays in Cancer / Capricorn (constellations) and therefore we’re not only talking about “retrieving” but also “programming”…. Furthermore, the concepts of dreaming, astral travel, out of body experiences and learning while in those realms and “remember” and secondly also take this into waking (daylight) realms as way of “connecting” … yet, it needs trust into the own “authority”, the own system within that guides us all the way….
Nope, not "hocus pocus" - even Albert Einstein used this "inner technology" and connection to solve "problems".... it's the "letting go" that opens the door :-)
