Cycles, perspectives and global themes

Updated: Dec 14, 2023

This post I originally wrote in 2020 - now it's August 2023 and I've re-read and still agree, I would use maybe other examples, different wordings etc., yet I think it's other than that still valid.... sigh....

I may, sometime soon add some more content and "food for thought" here....

many earths lined up, becoming smaller and smaller

I pointed out some cycles in Astrology in previous articles. We as Humans undergo cycles in our lives, some "longer" some shorter. The same we do in a societal way and we do in a global way.

Various themes are coming up in cycles.

For example, the perspective of the Earth being flat was believed and taken as absolute truth and fact for a long time and it took a long time to finally overcome this perspective and was only be possible by taking a step "up" and look at it with open and broad mind and scientific proof.....

From this perspective I would like to open the discussion of some themes we have been facing and been addressing in cycles throughout history. Themes that are also addressed from various points of view, depending from where one "stands" or in which personal environment it manifests....

We have once more the themes of discrimination, racism, nationalism, power and aggression to name a few..... all these themes were addressed multiple times throughout history and probably in various forms in our personal lives....

I would like to address these themes from my own personal experiences as examples - as well as some themes that came up in societies in history and ongoing.

I was born and raised in Switzerland and even though I was physically looking "similar" as most people around me but I still was different in many ways and so I had a hard time in school as nowadays it's called I got bullied... a very troubling experience but one that helped me to grow.... For a long time I felt unloved, not integrated, misunderstood and therefore I blamed everyone around me, that did "feed" into that perspective or "view of self"....

Years later I had a Girlfriend who was born in India but adopted to Switzerland - when we went out together, people (especially man as she's very beautiful) came to me to ask about her as they assumed she doesn't speak the language.... later on, I moved to Thailand and was for some years married to a Thai - guess what - of course, people did address him to ask about his obviously foreign looking wife, even so I was already back then able to speak a bit of Thai....

Living in this very different culture and society gave me over time a much broader view on things - also my many visa travels to Malaysia, where a majority of people follow the Muslim Religion (I don't know much about this religion though - sorry!!) ... the Western world is in fear and panic about the Muslim world for a very, very long time but we have learned science from them and so we expanded and grew hugely back then through the relationship with these foreign nations and societies....

A very good Friend of mine and I have agreed to disagree on certain themes, even so we discuss them very often and intensively - it means we respect each others views but are able to listen to the others view as another possibility without the need or push to adapt or change.....

People come and go and mostly only want to live in peace, safety and happiness - anywhere in the world!!!!!

Nations come and go, civilizations come and go - cycles which are repeating all the time until we find out of the "hamster wheel" and learn the lesson!!!!

Where ever we go, what ever we do, there will be a "reflection" in the outside - there will be people who like us and some who don't which is only based on "resonance".... which theme we reflect to them....

The difficult reactions come from underlining emotions like "fear" - we can see that everywhere - we had now for a long time the discussions of immigration... in some countries that did bring up the fear of "loosing" traditions, values or jobs or whatever - so it's fear based....

Immigrants bringing different perspectives to various themes and hey, also some wonderful foods - so is that loss?? It's expansion for both sides. I for example, to make it simple, love to eat Thai food but as a Swiss person I also love the variety of Swiss foods (especially Swiss cheese, lol) so I expanded my diet and some Thai friends of mine did taste some more Swiss style foods I made and so they expanded (as I do not like every single Thai dish, no Thai person I met so far did like every single kind of western dish)....

During all these years here in Thailand, I was many times surprised - I often heard people leaving their job from one day to the other, without care about the money and when asked why, the answer was because it was no fun anymore. I think a very healthy approach. It's not about being lazy, everyone needs to do something (also relaxing of course, lol) it's just that we often don't allow ourselves to do what we actually like to do and so we end up in jobs that in the end make us sick because we stay in it out of fear to not be able to fulfill our daily needs - mind you, I'm not talking about the fact that we have sometimes a bad day or feel lazy or bored!!!

So I conclude, it's all about overcoming the fear and lack, finding the courage to try or integrate something new and different.... It's always the same, as in the little, so in the big.... One thing is certain, fear, blame, aggression does only lead into chaos and destruction - within as without - I think openness, respect and integration of new and foreign can lead to growth and understanding - a better world - Integration of the Diversity....

We also have this constant "fight" between the rich and the poor, those with financial and/or political powers versus those who think to have less - also here the constant blaming!!! Yes, there is huge inequality on the financial level in this world but that's only as long as we define the financial status as the only "wealth" - if we take a broader look at it, every single person is rich in various ways... we have been forced to live in "lockdown" for the last months, some gradually opening more others not yet but there is a global theme here - we all were affected in some ways, some more existential than others yes, but nevertheless, it shows we can actually do something together and like after the second world war we have to rebuild, maybe it's time to consider totally different ways of living, totally different societal structures and values!!!!!

I'm absolutely certain that when we All, become courageous by our own values, without judgement of ourselves and others, without blame, we can actually build a really new and free world.....

Much Love to you All,

Fran
